Music.
Music is one of the few universal languages. It touches us, embraces us, penetrates us, brings out the purest essence, the beauty that is the human experience. Whether it’s the most humble melody or the most trunk-rattling bass, we may find ourselves losing touch with reality and falling ever deeper in the joy that is – you guessed it – music.
We live in an time where cash rules everything around us. If there is a profit to be made, best believe someone will try to capitalize on it. Music has fallen down that same path in a sense, where the single outshines the album, and the singular moment outweighs the sequence. That’s why we’re here though. We see beyond the nonsense. We recognize the weight in the words we speak. We aren’t saviors or saints attempting to rescue music: it doesn’t need saving. Just another voice to say, “There’s more to this than you think.”
Weight in Words isn’t about judgment. It isn’t about the black-and-white notions of “good” and “bad”. It isn’t about what someone likes and doesn’t like, not really. Weight in Words is about speaking on the thing that brings us all together. Much like Whose Line lore, the points don’t matter. The scores you’re looking for are in another castle. This is about words, not numbers.
So dear reader, if this is what you’re after, take my hand. Let me take you to a land we never thought we’d create. One way or another I’ll show you how sweet this brand of freedom is. Share your soul with me.
